The same thing that pulled me into Horizon pulled me here. YPSF offers young people direct access to spaces they are not usually given a seat in — in this case formal international policy spaces, where the seat itself is the whole point. A student who has sat through a session at UN Headquarters relates to that work differently afterward, and my job was to make sure as many of them got there as possible.

As VP of Operations I planned and oversaw operations for the largest youth delegation at the 2025 High-Level Political Forum, more than fifty representatives. That is travel, accreditation, briefing materials, schedules, and a great many small problems solved quietly so that nobody in the delegation had to think about them.

I organized three events at United Nations Headquarters in New York, working inside the constraints of an accredited institution rather than a company that can change its mind on a Tuesday.

The organization runs to more than 900 members across 89 countries, most of whom I have never met in person, which makes written clarity the entire job.

Running logistics for a formally accredited international institution is a different discipline from running a fast-moving company, and it was good for me to be somewhere I could not simply move faster to solve a problem. It reinforced something I keep relearning: the skills that travel best between very different rooms — clear communication, accountability, and coordinating people you have never met in person — are rarely industry-specific.
